Mayor Evelio Leonardia has been appointed by the La Consolacion College-Bacolod as honorary chairperson of its Centennial Celebration External Committee for its 100th anniversary in 2019.
Leonardia, who finished his elementary and secondary education at LCC-B and a recipient of “Fidelity Award,” attended the LCC Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting recently to discuss the preparations for the centennial anniversary.
The mayor said he will work hand-in-hand with the LCC-B Board to ensure the success of the centennial celebration.
School officials who attended the meeting were School President Sr. Gavina Barrera, Vice President for External Affairs Dr. Ma. Mercedes Joson, Vice President for Finance and Administration Sr. Jennifer dela Cruz, Administrative Officer Sr. Marie Garcia, Building and Grounds Security Office head Arch. Edmund Guitche; Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolacion (ASOLC) Mother General Sr. Nicet Vargas, ASOLC Regional Superintendent Sr. Meg Tallafer, Integrated School principal and Board of Trustees (BoT) secretary Sr. Sheila Amla, Integrated School Family Council president Grace Uy, BoT chairman Ponce de Leon, trustee Lina Hilado, and Office of the School President staff Azel Facultad.
Joson, chair of the 2019 Centennial Celebration, said they will have a pre-centennial celebration that will start this March 2017 until March 2019.
The Centennial Year will be formally launched on March 12, 2019 until March 2020 with the theme, “A Glimpse of History of La Consolacion College- Bacolod,” Joson said.
This will be a year-long celebration with various fun-filled and memorable activities for its student, faculty, alumni, as well as the people of Bacolod, she added.
LCC-B is private institution owned and administered by the sisters of the Order of St. Augustine in the Philippines. It was established on March 12, 1919.*
