Crisis and Trauma Management is one area which is now gaining focus and attention not only exclusively among professionals in the field of psychology and health care but even among human resource managers and those in the social work. Throughout the world, there has been a powerful development of comprehensive mental services. The increasing mobility, family and social structures, economic activities and even climate change could result to a great amount of stress, thus the need for organizations to establish mechanisms and be trained in crisis management, provision of resources and immediate response in cases of accidents and disasters.

Along this need, La Consolacion College Bacolod developed a training program to provide for the honing of necessary skills in crisis and psychotrauma management. Apart from the basic principles and fundamentals in crisis management, traumatology and psychotrauma, the program will equip its students with psychotrauma assessment skills. The certificate gained from the program may be credited in the Master in Business Administration major in Human Resource Management in LCC Bacolod according to Dr. Ma. Mercedes A. Joson, Dean of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.
The training program will run for two months with Saturday classes that will run for eight meetings from 8am to 12pm. Lecturers are experienced psychologists and specialists in crisis and trauma management.

The recent spate of disasters left deep-seated trauma among the victims. In places like Tacloban, international aid have come to assist not only in rehabilitation but care and attention to the victims.  There are not enough trained experts in the Philippines to give an immediate local response in the field of psychotrauma.
