Following the changes in the conditions of the present time, it was necessary to revise the philosophy of education which was written in the 80’s. The evolution of technology has massively altered society and culture including the way people react and cope with the challenges of time.
The COVID-19 pandemic has shifted the way formal education is delivered from classroom-based to distance education. Even the way students learn, if not the evolution of their own learning styles and the expansion of knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process necessitated a review of LCC Bacolod’s educational philosophy.
A new philosophy of education centered on collaborative and independent learning geared towards the development of individuals whose values are rooted in the love of God and neighbor was written and massively disseminated through social media and in student and parent orientation.
The change of philosophy marked the paradigm shift in the way education is delivered and the way students and parents understand the learning process.
Flipped classroom methodologies made more meaning to the experience of students and parents who have become more appreciative of the distance learning process.
A new culture in LCC Bacolod has evolved and these changes have clearly paved the way for LCC Bacolod to offer flexible learning options post COVID-19.
