La Consolacion College Bacolod Celebrates First Communication

La Consolacion College Bacolod (LCC-B) recently celebrated the First Communion of 125 of its students at the San Sebastian Cathedral last January 11, 2025.

The solemn occasion began with a processional march of the communicants, accompanied by their proud parents. Msgr. Ronaldo S. Quijano, SThD, presided over the Holy Mass.

The first reading, taken from John 5:14-21, emphasized the importance of prayer for sinners and recognizing the unique divinity of Jesus Christ. The Gospel reading, John 3:22-30, recounted Jesus’ journey with his disciples in Judea, where he baptized some of them. The passage also highlighted a dispute between followers of John the Baptist and a Jewish religious leader concerning purification.

In his homily, Msgr. Quijano eloquently compared the lighting of a candle to the journey of a Catholic Christian, drawing parallels between the light and the guidance of faith.

Following the homily, Msgr. Quijano, along with the communicants and their parents, facilitated the reception of Holy Communion.

The celebration concluded with a joyful photo opportunity featuring Msgr. Ronaldo S. Quijano, SThD, the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, IBED Middle Administrators, IBED Teachers, Parents, and the beaming communicants.

The First Communion Mass was a memorable event for the students of LCC-B, marking a significant milestone in their spiritual journey.
