La Consolacion College Bacolod Celebrates 106 Years of Enduring Quality and Transformative Education

Bacolod City, Negros Occidental – La Consolacion College Bacolod (LCCB) marked its 106th founding anniversary on March 12, 2025, with a heartfelt celebration themed “Enduring Quality Catholic Institution: Transforming Lives, Defining Dreams.” The LCCB Auditorium was filled with faculty, staff, alumni, and special guests who gathered to honor the institution’s rich history and dedicated personnel.

The program commenced with a dignified procession of service awardees, retirees, and special honorees, setting a tone of reverence and appreciation. Ms. Joanne Shiena V. Ricablanca, faculty member of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), led the audience in an inspiring opening prayer, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

Edmark Luis Monotilla, the event moderator, provided a concise yet comprehensive overview of LCCB’s storied history, setting the stage for the welcome remarks by Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, LCCB School President. Sr. Flolyn warmly greeted the attendees and acknowledged the presence of all guests, awardees, personnel, and administrators.

In her address, Sr. Flolyn posed thought-provoking questions to the awardees and retirees: “Why did you stay at La Consolacion College Bacolod?” and “What keeps you going to serve in our institution?” With a touch of humor, she playfully answered, “Baka manggulo sa LCCB” (Perhaps to cause trouble at LCCB), before shifting to a tone of deep gratitude and admiration.
