The A. G. Barcelona Center for Advanced Studies at La Consolacion College Bacolod is nearing completion, with additional funding enhancing its facilities. Mr. Alfredo G. Barcelona, Chairman of the Bacolod Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., has made an additional donation of ₱100,000 through Dr. Ramon Ponce de Leon, Chair of the LCC Bacolod Board of Trustees. The funds will be used to purchase 60 seats for the center, ensuring a comfortable and well-equipped learning space for students and trainees.

Renovation work is progressing steadily. Two split-type air-conditioning units have been installed, and an acoustic ceiling has been completed. The accordion door is currently being fabricated, and tables have been prepared. Additional improvements, including floor tile repairs, new glass windows, and whiteboards for each room, will be installed soon.
The center, housed under LCC Bacolod’s Graduate School, will offer short-term training and micro-credentialing courses to support workforce upskilling in response to industry demands.
LCC Bacolod President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, expressed her gratitude, stating, “We are deeply thankful for Mr. Alfredo G. Barcelona’s continued generosity. His support ensures that this center will serve as a valuable learning hub for many years to come.”
The project remains on track for completion before end of March 2025.
