La Consolacion College Bacolod Graduate School officially opened Academic Year 2025-2026 with a student orientation on August 9, 2025, at the Auditorium.
Sr. Gerolinda Tingson, OSA, LPT, EdD, Program Head of the Religious Studies and Educational Management programs, welcomed students and emphasized the school’s mission. “We are a Christ-centered, Augustinian, and Marian educational community dedicated to creating a more sustainable world,” she said, underscoring the institution’s commitment to accessible, relevant, and advanced curricular programs, responsive research, and compassionate service to the “last, the least, and the lost.”

LCC Bacolod President Sr. Flolyn Catungal, OSA, encouraged students to embrace their role as leaders, truth-seekers, and nation-builders. “Your journey here is not just about earning a degree—it is about forming yourselves into leaders rooted in truth, compassion, and a commitment to service,” she said.
Dr. Romela Aujero introduced the program chairpersons, who in turn presented their faculty members. On behalf of the Graduate School Dean, Dr. Baneline Jone Abantao, Dr. Rodjhun Navarro, discussed the college’s history, Institutional Graduate Attributes (IGAs), academic policies, research requirements, and the calendar of activities, including concept hearings in September, the Graduate School Research Colloquium in November, and various in-person academic engagements such as outreach, fellowship, and comprehensive examinations.
He also reminded students of the grading system—70% class standing and 30% major examinations—with final grades to be submitted within 10 days after exams. Updates included the reversion of the MAELM program name to MAEM, adherence to CHED’s CMO No. 4 series of 2023 requiring at least 50% in-person activities, and the mandatory use of Turnitin for research-inclined courses.
Dr. Vincent Raymund Alovera, Program Head of the Master of Science in Architecture program, introduced the Graduate School Student Council officers, followed by the election of program officers. Early attendees received prizes from the council.
As of the orientation, there are 445 enrolled graduate students, with enrollment open until August 16, 2025
