Administrators of La Consolacion College Bacolod, including the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, together with faculty, staff, alumni and some students, participated in the Trillion Peso March Against Corruption on Sunday, September 21, 2025. The nationwide action coincided with the 53rd anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law.
Earlier this month, LCC Bacolod released a joint statement with all La Consolacion schools in the Philippines demanding accountability in the wake of revelations of massive corruption in government flood control projects. On Sunday, the institution marched in solidarity with the Diocese of Bacolod, other Catholic schools, civil society organizations, and citizens calling for transparency, accountability and restitution.

The Bacolod rally began at the Capitol Lagoon, proceeded along Araneta Street, and culminated near the Bacolod Public Plaza. Participants, many dressed in white, carried banners condemning corruption and urging reforms.
“This is not just about politics, but about moral responsibility,” said Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, president of La Consolacion College Bacolod. “As an Augustinian school, we are committed to forming young people who stand for truth, justice and integrity. Our presence in this march is a testimony that education and faith must go hand in hand in building a society free from corruption.”
The Trillion Peso March drew broad support from churches, schools and civic groups across the country, amplifying calls to end systemic corruption and strengthen accountability in government.
