AKLAN — Three faculty members from the La Consolacion College Bacolod Fine Arts Program represented the institution at the Visayas Islands Visual Arts Exhibition and Conference (VIVA ExCon) 2025, held November 21–23 at the Marzon Convention Center and Aklan Tourism and Trade Investment Promotions Center.
Faculty members Primitivo Deocades, Edmund Bacia, and Renzell Panase joined artists, educators, cultural workers, and advocates from across the Visayas in the longest-running biennial art event in the Philippines.

This year’s VIVA ExCon, themed “Sádsad Panáad,” featured theoretical lectures, artists’ talks, workshops, art circuits, and exhibitions highlighting contemporary practices, regional cultural identity, and the evolving creative economy.
According to organizers, the conference continues to serve as a vital platform for inter-island collaboration, cultural exchange, and dialogue among visual artists working in varying contexts and mediums.
The participation of LCC Bacolod’s Fine Arts faculty reinforced the institution’s commitment to strengthening creative education, expanding professional networks, and exposing students and educators to national-scale artistic discourse.
