LCC Bacolod, LCST Formalize Partnership, Hold Book Donation Turnover

La Consolacion College Bacolod and Libacao College of Science and Technology (LCST) strengthened their academic and community engagement initiatives through a Memorandum of Agreement signing and book donation turnover ceremony held December 11 at LCC Bacolod.

The event opened with a program featuring administrators, faculty, and representatives from both institutions. Dr. Christian Angelo B. Ituriaga, dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, welcomed guests and emphasized the importance of collaboration in expanding learning opportunities for students and communities.

Dr. Penny V. Sanchez, associate dean for Academic Affairs, presented the rationale of the partnership, highlighting the shared commitment of both institutions to Education, Service-Learning, and capacity-building. The MOA formalizes LCC Bacolod’s provision of service-learning projects, benchmarking activities, training programs, seminars, and library resource support for LCST, whose faculty and students will actively participate in the initiatives.

Following the MOA signing, LCC Bacolod formally turned over a collection of books to LCST. The presentation was led by librarian Ms. Jimiveve A. Tamon, with Sr. Irene M. Bancolo, OSA, vice president for Finance and General Services, and Ms. Bernadette T. Tupas, head of Community Outreach, handing over the donations on behalf of the institution.

LCST President Dr. Griselda C. Quintana expressed their gratitude, noting that the partnership will enhance academic development and provide opportunities for sustainable growth in the LCST community.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Romela R. Aujero, LCC Bacolod vice president for Administration and Academic Affairs, reaffirmed the college’s commitment to inclusive education and community service.

The collaboration is set to run for two years and may be renewed upon mutual agreement. Both institutions cited the initiative as a significant step toward expanding access to quality education and strengthening inter-institutional cooperation.
