San Juan City – December 16, 2025 — The Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation (ASOLC) formally concluded their 24th General Chapter with messages of gratitude, reflection, and renewed commitment to mission, highlighted by the addresses of the newly elected Superior General, Sr. Oddysa D. Estor, OSA, and the Vicar General and Councilor on Apostolate, Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA.
In her address, Sr. Infante traced the yearlong journey that culminated in the General Chapter, recalling that preparations began with the convocation on Dec. 1, 2024. She outlined the successive milestones that shaped the process—from the nomination of candidates for Superior General and the election of delegates, to organizational meetings in February, formation assemblies held in March, July, and September, and the delegates’ retreat at the motherhouse beginning November 29. These phases, she said, eventually led to the Chapter of Affairs and the Chapter of Elections.
“We had a long journey,” Sr. Infante said, describing the experience as “spirit-filled, spirit-led, meaningful, quite exhausting, but truly worthwhile.” She noted that the process revealed both the sisters’ deep love for the congregation and their enduring commitment to the mission entrusted to them.
Both leaders emphasized that the success of the 24th General Chapter was the result of collective effort. Sr. Infante expressed profound gratitude to the election committee, the chapter commissions, and the General Chapter Commission, led by its president, for guiding the planning and execution of the chapter. She also thanked the chapter delegates for patiently studying reports, preparing questionnaires, and bringing the voices of the sisters and mission partners into the discernment process despite their many responsibilities.

Special recognition was given to the various working committees that supported the chapter, including those responsible for liturgy, physical arrangements, food services, secretariat work, transportation, health services, accommodations, laundry, and social activities. According to Sr. Infante, these teams, together with the formators and lay partners, worked quietly in the background to ensure that the technical, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of the delegates were met.
Sr. Estor, in her message as Superior General, echoed this spirit of gratitude and unity, acknowledging the many individuals and groups who accompanied the congregation through prayer, encouragement, and material support. She highlighted the role of facilitators, spiritual directors, and clergy who guided the sisters through moments of discernment, decision-making, and reflection during the chapter.
“A General Chapter is a sacred time of discernment,” Sr. Estor said, noting that the decisions made are binding on the entire congregation and require openness to the Spirit. She expressed appreciation to the Augustinian family, partner congregations, clergy, and friends who journeyed with the sisters, even from afar.
As the chapter formally closed, the leaders reminded the congregation that the work ahead has only begun. They called for continued prayer and support as the ASOLC embarks on a new chapter of leadership and mission, grounded in unity, faith, and the Augustinian call to be “of one mind and one heart on the way to God.”
The 24th General Chapter was officially closed by the chapter president, marking both an ending and a beginning for the congregation’s ongoing journey of integral transformation.
