Stories inspired by the lives of Augustinian saints, blesseds and venerables came to life during this year’s Le Consolite Film Fest, the Integrated School’s annual culminating project for Grade 10 Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) classes at La Consolacion College Bacolod.
Twelve student-produced films were showcased in an open-air cinema setup at the college quadrangle on Saturday, March 7, drawing students, faculty and guests for an evening of storytelling rooted in faith and service.

Among the featured films were Across the Heart, From the Bees to the Roses, Himala, Lingap, Malyari, Pagtalima, To Heal A Heart, Veil of Devotion and When Our Paths Crossed. Each production explored themes of compassion, sacrifice and devotion inspired by the spiritual legacy of the Augustinian tradition.
The Le Consolite Film Fest serves as the culminating creative project of Grade 10 students under the TLE program, allowing them to apply storytelling, production and collaborative skills while reflecting on the lives of Augustinian figures.
Mr. Ernie Mallorca, Subject Area Chair of TLE, said the activity encourages students to translate values into creative expression.
“Through filmmaking, our students learn that the stories of the Augustinian saints, blesseds and venerables are not distant histories but living inspirations. This project challenges them to interpret faith, compassion and service through their own creative voice,” Mallorca said.
School President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, emphasized that the festival reflects the school’s mission of forming students who are not only skilled but spiritually grounded.
“The Le Consolite Film Fest shows how creativity can become a path to deeper reflection on our Augustinian identity. Through these stories, our students discover that holiness is expressed in everyday acts of love, service and compassion,” Catungal said.
Winners of the film festival will be announced during the awards ceremony scheduled on March 13 at 6 p.m. at the Sugarland Hotel Grand Ballroom.
