LCC BACOLOD BENCHMARKS HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM BEST PRACTICES AT HOLY ANGEL UNIVERSITY

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — Administrators, faculty members, and students from La Consolacion College Bacolod visited Holy Angel University on May 13, 2026, for a benchmarking activity aimed at strengthening academic excellence, internationalization, and industry responsiveness in hospitality and tourism education.

Upon arrival at the university in Angeles City, the LCCB delegation was warmly received by Holy Angel University officials and student ambassadors. While LCCB students were given a guided campus tour, members of the LCCB School of Hospitality and Tourism Management administration and faculty participated in a focused roundtable discussion with HAU academic leaders, including representatives from the Office of Internationalization, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP), and the program chairs of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management.

During the exchange, HAU officials presented the university’s best practices in internationalization, highlighting faculty and student mobility programs, curriculum internationalization strategies, global visibility initiatives, and the integration of the United Nations’ United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across academic and extension programs. The discussions also covered innovative performance indicators such as collaboration scoring for measuring the productivity of memoranda of agreement with industry partners, experiential learning models, student support systems, community extension frameworks, creative works, and faculty exchange opportunities.

A key highlight of the benchmarking session was HAU’s sharing of insights on international accreditation, particularly its experience in pursuing ACPHA accreditation, as well as its outcomes-based education framework for hospitality and tourism programs. The Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) was likewise presented as a model for global industry immersion and graduate employability.

LCCB representatives, in turn, shared the institution’s own best practices in managing both domestic and international educational tours, emphasizing experiential learning, global exposure, and the development of industry-ready graduates. The benchmarking activity opened opportunities for exploratory academic cooperation between the two institutions, with both schools expressing interest in future collaborations in faculty exchange, student mobility, and joint international initiatives.
