LCC BACOLOD EARNS CHED-NIR RECOGNITION FOR REGISTRAR RECORDS MANAGEMENT

La Consolacion College Bacolod received a Model Implementer Award for registrar records management from the Commission on Higher Education Region XVIII-Negros Island Region during the 2nd Regional Quality Awards held May 26 in Bacolod City.

The award recognized the institution’s implementation of processes for the issuance of Certification, Authentication and Verification, or CAV, and Special Orders, or SOs.

LCC Bacolod was among the higher education institutions recognized by CHED-NIR for achievements in board performance, research, national service training, institutional systems and quality processes. The award was presented by CHED-NIR officials led by Regional Director Raul C. Alvarez Jr.

The recognition was received by LCC Bacolod President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA; Dr. Rodjhun B. Navarro, vice president for research, innovation and linkages; Rejay Y. Alvarado, head of the Research Office; and Felix Adrian D. Dalida, head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Office.

Catungal said the award affirms the school’s commitment to responsible and student-centered records services.

“Every student record carries a story of effort, formation and achievement,” Catungal said. “This recognition reminds us that serving students also means protecting the integrity of their records and helping them move forward with confidence.”

Mrs. Ellen Sesante, assistant registrar, said accurate records management is important because students and alumni rely on official documents for employment, licensure, graduate studies and other professional requirements.

“Good records management is built on accuracy, verification and care,” Sesante said. “When students or alumni request documents, they are often preparing for important opportunities.”

For LCC Bacolod, the award highlights the role of the registrar’s office in supporting students beyond the classroom and after graduation. It also affirms the institution’s continuing effort to strengthen systems that protect records, maintain public trust and serve students and alumni with integrity.
