LCCB CHORALE,CHORUS OPEN NOPSSCEA SEASON 46 WITH STIRRING PERFORMANCE

The La Consolacion College Bacolod Chorale and Chorus delivered a stirring rendition of Tom Fettke’s “The Majesty and Glory of His Name” during the opening ceremony of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association Season 46 on Friday, Aug. 14, at Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

Under the baton of Prof. Alexander Magno Romero, the ensemble brought together the voices of its singers in a performance marked by strong vocal blend, disciplined musicianship and expressive interpretation.

The sacred choral work added a sense of grandeur and reverence to the opening program, as students, educators and representatives of NOPSSCEA member schools gathered for the start of the organization’s new season.

Romero said the performance reflected not only the singers’ musical preparation but also their understanding of music as a means of bringing people together.

“Our singers prepared for this performance with discipline and a shared commitment to communicate the meaning of the music,” Romero said. “More than achieving technical excellence, we want every performance to become an opportunity to inspire, serve and create a meaningful connection with our audience.”

The appearance marked the second time the LCCB Chorale and Chorus had been invited to perform during a NOPSSCEA opening ceremony, underscoring the ensemble’s continuing participation in major interschool events in Negros Occidental.

The singers’ return to the NOPSSCEA stage also highlighted LCC Bacolod’s sustained support for the performing arts and opportunities that allow students to develop their talents beyond the classroom.

Through its participation in Season 46, the Chorale and Chorus represented the college not in athletic competition but through music — contributing to an opening ceremony centered on fellowship, shared identity and the gathering of private schools across the province.

For the ensemble, the performance served as another milestone in a growing tradition of musical excellence shaped by sustained training, collaboration and service.

With Romero’s direction, the LCCB Chorale and Chorus continues to provide young musicians with opportunities to refine their artistry while using choral music to represent the institution in significant community and interschool occasions.
