La Consolacion College Bacolod has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the families of Filipino soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice or have been disabled in the line of duty. On November 7, 2023, President Sr. Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA, officially renewed the Memorandum of Agreement with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Under the agreement, the AFP has the authority to recommend one child of fallen Filipino soldiers or those disabled as a result of active combat for scholarships to pursue any of the college-level programs offered at La Consolacion College Bacolod.
Lieutenant Colonel Edna Claire R. Capacillo represented the Armed Forces of the Philippines during the renewal ceremony.
The scholarship initiative encompasses a full tuition fee discount throughout the duration of the student’s academic journey, provided they maintain a commendable academic standing. This endeavor by La Consolacion College Bacolod aims to ease the financial burden on the families of these brave servicemen and women, ensuring that their children have the opportunity to pursue higher education.
The partnership between La Consolacion College Bacolod and the Armed Forces of the Philippines exemplifies a shared commitment to honoring and supporting the families of those who have dedicated their lives to serving the nation. The college believes in the transformative power of education and aims to provide a pathway for the children of fallen or disabled soldiers to achieve their academic aspirations.
As the Memorandum of Agreement is renewed, both institutions look forward to continuing this meaningful collaboration, fostering a spirit of solidarity and support for the heroes who have sacrificed for the country.#
