On May 11, 2024, the LCCB Graduate School held its first-ever Gawad Parangal ceremony, a landmark event celebrating the remarkable contributions and enduring legacies of its personnel, faculty, and administrators. The theme, “Honoring Legacies, Empowering Change,” encapsulated the spirit of the event, dedicated to recognizing those who have played a pivotal role in shaping the graduate school’s success.
During the event, various awards were presented to honor the exceptional individuals within the LCCB Graduate School community. Certificates of Appreciation were given to past and present graduate school faculty and administrators for their dedicated service and contributions to the growth and success of the school. The awards for Outstanding and Excellent Faculty by Students’ Evaluation recognized those who have
demonstrated exceptional teaching and mentorship, as evaluated by their students. Service Awards were also distributed to faculty and staff, celebrating their years of dedicated service in increments of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years.
A special Merit of Exemplary Service was awarded to Mrs. Dionila P. Acosido for her outstanding service as the office secretary, acknowledging her many years of dedication to the graduate school. Dr. Baniline Jone V. Abantao was recognized for her significant academic contributions with the launch of her publications, “Marketing Research” and “Marketing Management,” during the event. Dr. Ramon P. Ponce de Leon, Chair of the LCCB Board of Trustees and Consultant of the LCCB Graduate School, received the Philanthropic Award for his visionary leadership, selfless service, and contributions, including the establishment of the LCCB Graduate School RPDL Collection, which enhanced the school’s academic resources. Additionally, special
appreciation was given to the LCCB School President, Sr. Joan BC S. Infante, OSA for her leadership and unwavering support of the graduate school.
Following the awards ceremony, attendees enjoyed a simple yet elegant dinner catered by the first-year students of the LCCB School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, adding a special touch to the evening and showcasing the talent and potential of the institution’s students.
The Gawad Parangal was initiated by Dr. Melona Q. Guitche, Acting Dean of the LCCB Graduate School, Dr. Aireen B. Gedorio, Program Head, and team, whose vision and leadership made the event possible. Their dedication to recognizing and celebrating the contributions of the LCCB community was evident throughout the evening.
The inaugural Gawad Parangal not only honored the past but also inspired future generations to continue striving for excellence, integrity, and service.
