La Consolacion College Bacolod concluded its Personnel Sports Fest 2024, an event that coincided with the celebration of President Sister Joan Brigida Corazon S. Infante, OSA’s birthday on June 8.
The day began with a Eucharistic Celebration held at the Campus Chapel, presided over by Rev. Fr. Jepser Bermudez, OSA. This was followed by an awards ceremony and group and individual lip-synch competitions at the Auditorium.
In her message, Sister Infante congratulated all the faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and general maintenance staff who participated in the games. She acknowledged the unique contributions that everyone brought to the community and their wholehearted commitment to fostering unity and cooperation within the organization. She emphasized that the games strengthened the sense of community and encouraged the inclusion of employees’ family members in future events. “This is one way of expanding the community beyond the organization,” she said.
Friday afternoons since April had been dedicated to various sports events, leading to the culmination. The events included basketball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), darts, badminton, and board games such as chess, game of the generals, and scrabble.
Dr. Romela Aujero, VP for Personnel, highlighted the spirit of the event, stating, “The Sports Fest isn’t just about winning or losing; it’s about the joy of participation and the sense of belonging that comes from being part of a supportive community.” The Sports Fest 2024 showcased the college’s commitment to promoting camaraderie, wellness, and a strong sense of community among its personnel.
