The 76th General Alumni Homecoming of La Consolacion College Bacolod proved to be more than just a reunion—it was a renewal of mission, a celebration of unity, and the launching of a new chapter of service through Project HOPE (Helping One Person Excel).

Held at the LCC Bacolod Quadrangle, the homecoming brought together jubilarians, alumni honorees, former Alumni Association presidents, and alumni spanning decades of LCC history. From the motorcade and Holy Mass, to the Bingo Socials, awarding ceremony, and the Gala Cultural Show, the day-long event embodied the theme of gratitude, connection, and hope.
Alumni Association President Atty. Benilda Abrasia-Tejada described the event as a “95% success,” citing the strong turnout of 417 registered attendees. “In terms of the overall success of the activities—from the Opening Ceremony to the Cultural Show and Gala—we had a very successful alumni homecoming,” she said, highlighting the first-time tribute given to past Alumni Association presidents as a historic and memorable highlight.

In her keynote message, Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, School President, framed the gathering as a launchpad for a new alumni-led mission: Project HOPE. She called it “our collective promise to turn gratitude into action, memory into mission, and success into service.”
The initiative, she explained, will focus on scholarships, mentoring, program development, and stewardship—rooted in transparency and accountability. “Together, we can ensure that the story of LCC is not only remembered but renewed in every life we touch,” she told the alumni, urging them to PRAY, PARTNER, and PROPEL the mission forward.

For Class 2000, this year’s Silver Jubilarians and co-sponsors of the event, the celebration was deeply personal. Their president, Anton Derramas, reflected on the significance of the milestone:
“For Class 2000, to return as Silver Jubilarians means T-I-M-E—Time to remember, to pause, to celebrate, and to reconnect. It is in the simple moments of a warm hello, a shared laugh, a call of ‘Kamusta ka na?’ where we find the true meaning of coming home.”
He added that beyond the lights and cultural presentations, it was the small gestures of reaching out and offering one’s Treasure, Inspiration, Moments, and Efforts that made the occasion truly meaningful.

The Alumni Association also embraced modern shifts by implementing online registration, voting, and even digital raffle draws—ensuring wider participation from alumni across the globe. Atty. Tejada emphasized that events like this are crucial not only for strengthening alumni ties but also for sustaining the school’s mission. “Every homecoming expands our network, inspires cooperation, and forges common projects and goals,” she said.

The evening culminated in a dazzling Gala Cultural Show, where participating batches expressed their unity and creativity through performances enriched by lights and sounds. Alumni young and old came together not just in celebration, but in recommitment—to one another, to the college, and to the generations of LCCians yet to come.
As Sr. Flolyn reminded, “Your presence makes hope visible.” The 76th General Alumni Homecoming was not only a walk down memory lane, but a bold step into the future—with Project HOPE lighting the way.
