Another ETEEAP alum passes Bar exams

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Another graduate of the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program has added his name to the list of successful Bar examinees, highlighting the program’s role in widening access to higher education and professional advancement.

Bryan Villarosa, an ETEEAP alumnus, passed the Bar examinations, the results of which were announced on Jan. 7, 2026.

Villarosa earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management through ETEEAP in 2018. In a testimony he shared shortly after defending his undergraduate thesis, he said he had earlier completed a five-year college program that was not recognized by the Commission on Higher Education, making ETEEAP a critical pathway for him to complete a recognized degree.

He recalled having many questions when he first applied to the program but said the guidance of his supplemental instructors and the support of friends helped him persevere and succeed.

Before pursuing law, Villarosa spent five years working in the real estate industry as a sales professional. At the time, his initial plan was to obtain a broker’s license and earn a master’s degree in business administration. That goal later expanded into a decision to take up law, eventually leading him to enroll in the Juris Doctor program at University of St. La Salle.

“I wouldn’t be here without the guidance of my teachers back in ETEEAP,” Villarosa said, describing the program as a stepping stone that enabled his career advancement.

Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, president of La Consolacion College Bacolod, said Villarosa’s achievement reflects the transformative impact of ETEEAP on working professionals and adult learners.

“Bryan’s success affirms our belief that education should be inclusive and responsive to the diverse learning journeys of our students,” Catungal said. “ETEEAP recognizes prior learning and experience, and when coupled with strong mentoring, it empowers individuals to pursue their dreams and serve society in meaningful ways.”

Villarosa’s Bar examination success adds to the growing number of ETEEAP graduates who have gone on to excel in law and other regulated professions, reinforcing the program’s value as an alternative yet rigorous route to higher education and lifelong learning.
