Faculty members of La Consolacion College Bacolod showcased results from institutional research conducted from July through October 2024 at a research colloquium held on November 4, 2024. The event, organized by Rejay Alvarado, Head of the Research Office, marked the culmination of a research initiative launched in June. Faculty members participated in the colloquium both in person and online, where they presented studies aimed at informing and refining school policies.
The studies presented included:
– Solid Waste Management Awareness and Practices among Students by Genevieve Geriane, Janrae Sanicas, and Sr. Gerolinda Tingson, OSA.
– Assessing the Reliability of the Faculty Merit System Instrument by Adrian Taglorin and Al Anthony Talaman.
– Effectiveness of the Faculty Development Program by Ma. Mae Toledo and Deofrey Villamor.

The colloquium included insights from faculty members such as Rhoda Maghinay, who praised the research on the reliability of the merit system instrument, noting its importance in supporting fair and effective faculty merit increases.
These studies have significant implications for the institution’s policies. Recommendations from the research will guide improvements in areas such as faculty development, compensation, and environmental awareness. The findings are expected to contribute to policy adjustments aimed at strengthening institutional support for faculty and student engagement.
La Consolacion College Bacolod President, Sr. Flolyn Catungal, OSA, commended the faculty’s dedication to research, stating, “Your commitment to exploring and understanding our institution’s needs through research is a testament to our shared mission of excellence.
