What if architecture could speak the language of fabric? What if buildings could flow like silk, wrap like hablon, and move like the people they were built for?
This was the kind of question Gorgjas Silleva—Architecture student at La Consolacion College Bacolod—decided to explore in her thesis, “A Fashion and Style Hub for Negros Occidental.”
And what she came up with is more than just a design project. It’s a creative movement waiting to happen.

“Fashion is not merely clothing,” Gorgjas shares. “It’s a cultural language that speaks identity, history, and artistry.”
That belief became the soul of her concept: a place where Negrense designers, stylists, artisans, and fashion lovers can come together to learn, collaborate, showcase, and dream.
The architecture? Think textile-inspired curves, parametric surfaces, and a layout that flows like a runway. The design invites you to move—not just physically, but emotionally—through spaces of creation, storytelling, and innovation.
“It’s not about trends,” Gorgjas says. “It’s about timelessness. About reflecting the identity of Negros through forms that feel alive.”
Every detail—from organic spatial planning to contextual symbolism—pays tribute to Negrense heritage while making room for the future of local fashion.
But here’s what makes the project even more powerful: sustainability isn’t just a feature—it’s the foundation.
Natural light, walkable design, energy-efficient strategies, and adaptable spaces make the hub eco-conscious and future-ready. And on the cultural side? It’s designed to be a living archive. A place where skills are passed on, stories are celebrated, and local talent is uplifted.
Gorgjas dreams of the hub as an incubator for start-up designers, a market for local artisans, and a sanctuary for fashion students. It bridges industries—fashion, tourism, education—and creates new jobs, new opportunities, and a new identity for Negros Occidental on the creative map.
“This space,” she says, “can help make Negros a center of regional fashion innovation. It honors the past while shaping the future.”
From thread to thought, from sketch to structure, Gorgjas Silleva is proving that great design doesn’t just build spaces—it builds communities.
