The Master of Arts in Education major in Filipino program of La Consolacion College Bacolod Graduate School launched a new academic publication celebrating National Book Month, highlighting its commitment to advancing Filipino linguistics and research

The book, “Mga Piling Register ng Teknikal na Salitang Ginagamit sa Panahon ng COVID-19: Bilang Leksikal na Elaborasyon ng Wikang Filipino” (ISBN 978-621-8167-99-5), is the product of extensive thesis work in the Linguistics course. It documents and analyzes technical terms that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and examines their role in the continuing lexical elaboration of the Filipino language.
The authors are Elirey C. Asegurado, LPT, MAED; Carla Marie E. Delfin, LPT, MAED; Beverly L. Deque, LPT, MAED; and Edna D. Fregil, LPT, PhD. The cover illustration was created by Ernie P. Graduate School officials described the publication as a significant achievement for the MAED-Filipino program, noting that it not only explains pandemic-related terminology but also contributes to the enrichment of the national language. The launch also underscored the dedication of graduate students and faculty to producing meaningful research that supports national knowledge-building.
The release forms part of LCCB’s continued efforts to elevate scholarship and promote Filipino as a dynamic and evolving language.
