January 17, 2025 — La Consolacion College Bacolod gathered in the Quadrangle for a meaningful Holy Mass in honor of the Santo Niño, highlighting the Augustinian roots of the institution and the values of humility, availability, and generosity exemplified by the Holy Child Jesus.
The Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jesus M. Daño, OSA, who delivered a heartfelt homily emphasizing the importance of embodying child-like attitudes as modeled by Jesus. Fr. Daño reminded the congregation that while we grow in age, we must strive to maintain three essential virtues that the Santo Niño embodies: availability, humility, and generosity. “Jesus was born to remind us of our dependence on God,” he said, encouraging the faithful to reflect on these virtues in their daily lives.
La Consolacion College Bacolod, grounded in the Augustinian tradition, embraces values that align closely with the lessons taught through the life of the Holy Child. Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of La Consolacion College Bacolod, shared her thoughts on the significance of the celebration. “As an institution rooted in the Augustinian mission, this celebration reminds us to live in humility and service to others, following the example of the Santo Niño who exemplified pure dependence on God and love for all.”
This celebration is not only a spiritual gathering but also a reminder of the institution’s commitment to nurturing individuals who embody these Augustinian values of humility, availability, and generosity, serving both God and neighbor in their lives.
