๐พ๐๐๐๐ฏ ๐พ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ, ๐ ๐ช๐ก๐ฎ 2, 2024 โ John Quincy Arroz Hervias, a Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Studio Arts, clinched first place in the 57th Cadiz City Charter Day Painting Competition. The competition, held on July 2, 2024, featured the theme “Oportunidad”.
Hervias drew inspiration from his younger siblings for his winning piece. He explained that the theme “Oportunidad” offers a broad range of concepts, but he chose to focus on everyday opportunities. His creative process began with observing the simple act of water flowing from a faucet, which sparked the structure of his painting.
The judges for the competition included renowned artists Charlie S. Co, Burog Alvarado, Dr. Aladin Antiqueรฑo, Gao Rezaga, and Jovito Hecita. Hervias expressed his happiness and honor at having his work recognized by these esteemed artists, who have also served as sources of inspiration for him. He mentioned that he treasures the lessons he has learned from listening to their artist talks.
Hervias hopes his painting conveys the message that there are many opportunities around us, which can be seized if we open our eyes and take action. He advises aspiring artists to continuously create artwork and remain open to new ideas from fellow artists. This victory marks a significant achievement in Hervias’ artistic career and highlights his potential in the world of fine arts.
