La Consolacion College Bacolod Host Successful Job Fair 2025, Bridging Graduates to Opportunities

Bacolod City, Philippines – La Consolacion College Bacolod (LCCB), in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office of Bacolod City (PESO), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the LCCB Alumni Associations office, successfully held its Job Fair 2025 on April 4, 2025, at the LCCB College Atrium. The event served as a vital platform connecting graduating students and alumni with over 20 prominent companies and agencies from various industries.

The program commenced with an invocation led by Ms. Ma Hanah A. Masilungan, LPT, RGC, MAGC, In-Charge of the Institutional Guidance Services, setting a positive tone for the day. This was followed by the solemn singing of the Philippine national anthem.

Mr. Joselito M. Diaz, MBA, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming the participating companies. He emphasized the shared objective of the job fair in fostering career growth, advancement, and economic empowerment. “A job fair is more than just a gathering of companies and applicants; it is a bridge between potential and success,” Mr. Diaz stated. He encouraged the soon-to-be job seekers to actively explore opportunities, connect with potential employers, and confidently showcase their skills. “Let us make today not just about job searching, but about building relationships, discovering new paths, and embracing the possibilities ahead,” he concluded, extending his gratitude to the organizing committee, spearheaded by the College Guidance Services Center.

Dr. Penny V. Sanchez, LPT, Associate Dean of the Academic Affairs office, followed with an inspiring message directed towards the graduating students. She urged them to recognize the significance of the numerous companies present, symbolizing a wealth of potential career paths. Reflecting on their academic journey, Dr. Sanchez encouraged the students not to be overwhelmed by the opportunities but to view them as a “rich tapestry of possibilities.” “Approach each company with enthusiasm and genuine interest. Remember, they’re not just looking for employees; they’re searching for individuals who align with their vision and possess the drive to succeed,” she advised. Dr. Sanchez highlighted the collaborative nature of the event, encouraging students to engage with company representatives, ask insightful questions, and let their unique personalities shine. She concluded by reminding them of their strong support system, the knowledge they had acquired, and the resilience they had developed, wishing them the best of luck and urging them to believe in themselves.

Following the inspirational messages, each of the participating companies was acknowledged for their invaluable contribution to the job fair. This was followed by the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the job fair to eager applicants.

The afternoon session saw Ms. Agnes Capigon deliver a message on behalf of Atty. Benilda A. Tejada, the Alumni Association president. The message conveyed gratitude to the organizers, students, administrators, and fellow alumni officers for their collective efforts in making the event a success. Subsequently, certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to each of the participating companies, recognizing their commitment to providing employment opportunities.

The success of the LCCB Job Fair 2025 was further underscored by the presence of special guests, namely Ms. Carmela M. Abellar, Provincial Director of DOLE 6 Negros Occidental Field Office, and Mr. Ronnie Pineda, Senior Labor Employment Officer & Focal Person for Employment and Facilitation Program of DOLE 6 Negros Occidental Field Office. Their presence highlighted the collaborative effort between the academe, government agencies, and the private sector in fostering employment and economic growth within the region.

The LCCB Job Fair 2025 proved to be a significant step in empowering graduating students and alumni, providing them with a platform to connect with potential employers and embark on their professional journeys.
