La Consolacion College Bacolod has achieved another milestone by successfully completing the external audit for ISO 9001:2015 Recertification, conducted by TÜV Rheinland Philippines. This achievement affirms the institution’s commitment to maintaining quality management systems (QMS) that meet global standards in the delivery of educational services.
The audit, held from November 22 to November 23, 2024, comprehensively evaluated the college’s operations, including curriculum design, class observations, facilities maintenance, and customer satisfaction processes. The audit team commended LCC Bacolod for its adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards and its culture of continuous improvement.
Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of La Consolacion College Bacolod, expressed her pride in the institution’s achievement, saying, “This recertification underscores our steadfast commitment to excellence in education and institutional management. It is a shared success, made possible by the dedication of our administrators, faculty, staff, and students who embody the spirit of quality and innovation.”
While celebrating this success, LCC Bacolod is preparing for an even more ambitious goal: transitioning to the ISO 21001 Educational Organization Management System (EOMS) certification. This standard, specifically designed for educational institutions, emphasizes stakeholder satisfaction, learner-centric management, and effective alignment of institutional goals with global educational standards.
The transition to EOMS comes with unique challenges, as the certification scope under the current certifying body remains limited and Filipino auditors accredited for EOMS are still few. Despite these obstacles, the school administration is optimistic about fully adapting to EOMS standards within three years. This timeline reflects the institution’s goal of completing a cycle under the current QMS framework before fully aligning its processes with the more specialized EOMS standards.
“Our journey towards ISO 21001 certification represents not just an upgrade in our systems but a reaffirmation of our mission to provide quality, learner-centered education that addresses the needs of all stakeholders,” Sr. Flolyn explained.
With this forward-looking vision, LCC Bacolod continues to solidify its role as a leader in educational excellence, inspiring its community to embrace innovation and meet the evolving demands of the global educational landscape.
