A recent graduate from La Consolacion College Bacolod is gaining both national and international attention for her innovative interior design thesis, now featured on the official website of Filipinas Multi-Line Corp., a leading provider of architectural building solutions in the Philippines.
Marin Jan P. Infante, a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design student, was highlighted for her project titled “Runway to Excellence: Integrating Experiential Theory into an Aviation School for Learning Optimization.” Her work explores how interior design can enhance student engagement in aviation education by applying David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory, transforming traditional learning spaces into immersive, functional environments.

Infante’s design features modular simulation rooms with dynamic lighting and acoustic controls, along with interactive public spaces that encourage informal learning—concepts that push the boundaries of traditional classroom design. The project aims to bridge theory and practice through spatial innovation.
Her thesis was first recognized at KIDLAT 4.0, a national academic design conference organized by the Council of Interior Design Educators (CIDE) and the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), and was recently selected for exhibition at the Asia–Pacific Interior Design Student Project Display in Hanoi, Vietnam. The exhibit showcases exemplary student projects from across the region and is supported by design organizations including APSDA, JID, MIID, SIDS, TIDA, and CSID.
“Marin’s achievement is a proud moment for our department. She exemplifies how young Filipino designers can explore unconventional intersections and offer solutions that are both relevant and visionary,” said Dr. Vincent Raymund Y. Alovera, Dean of the School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design at LCC Bacolod. “Her work not only elevates our institution’s academic standing but also contributes meaningfully to the global conversation on future-ready design.”
IDr. Rachel Jutare, Program Head of the BS Interior Design program, echoed the sentiment: “She dared to take on a topic rarely explored in our field—and her boldness paid off. Marin’s thesis reminds us that meaningful design starts with purpose.”
La Consolacion College Bacolod’s Interior Design program, under its Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design (ARFIEN) school, is recognized for its consistent excellence. It was recently ranked among the top three performing schools in the national licensure examination for interior designers and continues to produce socially engaged, globally relevant design graduates.
