Bacolod City, Philippines – August 26, 2025 — La Consolacion College Bacolod has taken a historic step in advancing global opportunities for its future educators as it signed a Memorandum of Agreement with St. Joseph Nakae School in Thailand to launch the institution’s first international teaching internship program.
The virtual signing ceremony, held at the AVES Conference Room of LCCB, formalized the deployment of the first batch of ten Teacher Education students who will undergo a three-month internship in Thailand. Under the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP), the students will immerse in international classrooms where they will conduct academic-related activities, gain cross-cultural teaching experience, and refine their competencies in line with global educational standards.
The partnership provides strong institutional support to ensure student welfare. According to the MOA, St. Joseph Nakae School will provide board and lodging, mentoring, and allowances for the interns, as well as airport transfers and access to educational resources. No internship fees will be collected from LCCB or its student interns. LCCB, in turn, will ensure proper selection and preparation of qualified student-teachers, appoint a representative to monitor and evaluate their performance, and coordinate closely with St. Joseph Nakae School’s designated mentors.

“This is the first time for our Teacher Education Department to partner for an international internship, and I am very positive that good things will happen. Our students will learn a lot, their teaching skills will improve, and this experience will shape them into globally competent educators,” said Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of LCC Bacolod.
For Rev. Fr. Jeerasak Unla, Director of St. Joseph Nakae School, the collaboration is a testament to shared educational values: “This is a testament of the dedication of both schools to excellence and sustainable education. When institutions go hand in hand, we can empower our students to become more inspiring leaders in the future.”
Dr. Janrae A. Sanicas, Dean of SSLATE, highlighted that the program strengthens LCCB’s curriculum while nurturing the holistic development of its students: “This partnership widens the horizon of our students, preparing them not just for classrooms in the Philippines but for the global stage of education.”
Aligned with CHED, CMO No. 10, Series of 2023, the program emphasizes practical training, mentorship, and values formation, preparing future educators for complex challenges and leadership roles. The MOA is set to be renewable every three years, ensuring continuity and sustainability of the partnership.
With this pioneering venture, LCC Bacolod underscores its commitment to internationalizing its teacher education program, enriching academic experiences, and preparing its graduates to thrive as professional educators in a global context.
