The Department of Health through the City Health Office of Bacolod will conduct a COVID-19 vaccination rollout at LCC Bacolod main campus on November 12, 2021. This will be the first rollout to be hosted by La Consolacion College Bacolod for its students.
Dr. Edwin Miraflor, OIC of the Bacolod City Health Office has announced the availability of vaccines for students 12 years and older. He said that they will be offering Pfizer vaccine for students and AstraZeneca for adults 50 years old and above.
LCC Bacolod conducted a survey among its students and parents on their willingness to participate in the in-campus vaccination program. Within a period of 24 hours, over 300 students from the Junior High School to the college levels have signified their willingness.
As of this writing, the survey is still collecting data. It is necessary for students to signify their willingness for time management. Initially, the schedule is set from 8am to 12pm, but may extend until the afternoon should the number exceed 500 but not more than 1,000.
Parental consent is required of the students in the basic education level which will be collected by their class advisers.
On the day of the vaccination itself, students 12 to 17 years old must be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian and submit a photocopy of their birth certificate, parent’s or guardian’s ID, and if they have any medical declarations, they must bring with them a medical certificate.
LCC Bacolod’s Crisis Management Committee has planned the workflow at the Quadrangle to ensure the necessary health and safety protocols.
