LCC Bacolod Hosts Senior High School Parent Orientation and Family Council Election

August 10, 2024—La Consolacion College Bacolod held a general orientation for parents of Senior High School students on August 10, 2024, at the School Auditorium. The event aimed to provide parents with essential information on school policies and to facilitate the election of the Senior High School Family Council for the School Year 2024-2025.

The orientation began with a warm welcome from Integrated Basic Education Principal Sister Irene M. Bancolo, who expressed her appreciation for the parents’ active participation. “Your involvement is crucial to our shared goal of

ensuring the success and holistic development of your children,” said Sister Irene.

Following the welcome, Senior High School Academic Coordinator Ms. Janrae Alcantara-Sanicas introduced the key institutional and academic officers, as well as the faculty members of the Senior High School.

Representatives from various student service offices then presented relevant policies. Mr. Roy Bañares of the Finance Office discussed the policies for the payment of accounts and the use of school facilities. Head School Nurse Ms. Josephine Lumagabas provided an overview of the medical and dental services, including the insurance policies available to students. Sports Coordinator Ms. Dione Prajes outlined the guidelines for participation in the school’s sports programs and the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural, and Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) games and other competitions.

The Code of Discipline was thoroughly discussed by Ms. Wilma Grace Amar, Coordinator for Student Formation and Activities.

Ms. Alcantara-Sanicas also presented the academic policies and grading system, emphasizing, “We are committed to upholding academic excellence while ensuring that every student is given the support they need to thrive.”

The plenary session concluded with a closing message from Mrs. Melma Sanchez, outgoing Senior High School Family Council President, who said, “As parents, our role extends beyond the home. We are partners in this educational journey, working hand in hand with the school to shape our children’s future.” The treasurer of the Family Council also presented the financial report.

Following the general assembly, parents participated in a breakout session led by Homeroom Advisers

The session included an orientation on the school’s vision-mission, educational philosophy, and Institutional Graduate Attributes, along with classroom policies, guidelines, and guidance and counseling support services.

The assembly concluded with the election of Homeroom Parent Officers for the school year.

The event was moderated by Mr. Jhan Joseph Antonano and Mrs. Minette Gela, ensuring a smooth and engaging program.
