LCC Bacolod Opens School Year 2025-2026 with a Warm Welcome for Integrated Basic Education Students

La Consolacion College Bacolod officially opened School Year 2025–2026 with the first flag ceremonies held at the Integrated School on June 19 and at the Senior High School on June 20. The events marked the return of students and the welcoming of new learners into the LCCB community.

Sr. Irene M. Bancolo, OSA, Principal of the Integrated Basic Education Department and Vice President for Finance and General Services, delivered an inspiring message during the ceremonies. She welcomed all students with joy, expressed her gratitude to the parents, and encouraged everyone to embrace diversity. Emphasizing collaboration and active participation, she called on students to work together in joy, anchored on the teachings of St. Augustine. Sr. Bancolo reminded the community of the core values of the institution: Christ-centeredness, Community of Friends, Stewardship, Excellence, and Diversity.

Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, School President, also addressed the students with a message of unity and hope. She welcomed new members of the community and thanked continuing students for their loyalty. She emphasized that the school remains a learning community grounded in Jesus Christ, where students are invited to grow both academically and spiritually. She urged them to find Christ in every encounter and to participate in regular Masses, Bible reading, and Lectio Divina.

Sr. Catungal reassured the students that they will be guided to become purposeful individuals and challenged them to study hard, stay open to learning, and rise above difficulties. She reminded them that the school provides educational facilities to support learning and advised students to seek help from advisers or guidance counselors when feeling weary. Finally, she encouraged them to develop a habit of prayer, visit the chapel, and explore different ways of building a closer relationship with God.

The ceremonies signaled a strong start to the new academic year, reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing a Christ-centered, inclusive, and value-driven learning environment.
