LCC Bacolod President Meets Former Gov. Coscolluela on College’s Participation in Renewable Energy Week

Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of La Consolacion College Bacolod, welcomed Former Negros Occidental Governor Rafael L. Coscolluela, Provincial Consultant on Energy and Environment, in a courtesy meeting held at the college last June 25, 2025. The meeting focused on the college’s participation in the upcoming 2nd Renewable Energy (R/E) Week scheduled on July 17–19, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City.

The Renewable Energy Week is spearheaded by the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental in collaboration with various partners under the SecuRE Negros Campaign, advocating for clean, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions in the region.

La Consolacion College Bacolod is set to sign a Memorandum of Agreement with the Province of Negros Occidental for the participation of its School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design in the three-day exhibit. Students will showcase design solutions that promote energy efficiency in infrastructures and advocate for sustainable development.

“We are honored to be part of this important initiative that not only advances environmental responsibility but also gives our students a platform to contribute real solutions,” said Sr. Flolyn Catungal, OSA. “As an institution grounded in service and social transformation, we believe this collaboration strengthens our mission.”

Also present during the meeting were Mr. John Dyrick Dormis, Social Media Manager of the Communications Team of the SecuRE Negros Campaign; Dr. Raymund Vincent Alovera, Dean of the School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design; Ar. Gary Peter Bello, Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Architecture; Ms. Larissa Pacheco, Program Head of the Bachelor of Fine Arts; Mr. Rejay Alvarado, Head of the Research Office; and Dr. Rodjhun Navarro, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Linkages.

The partnership underscores LCC Bacolod’s commitment to advancing education that responds to the challenges of sustainability, energy security, and climate action.
