Faculty members from the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) of La Consolacion College Bacolod joined hospitality educators from 36 schools nationwide at the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP) National General Membership Meeting held Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Citadines Hotel, Bacolod City.

COHREP, the country’s leading organization for hotel and restaurant educators, serves as a professional network for advancing excellence and innovation in hospitality and tourism education. This year’s meeting carried the theme “Crafting Culture: Empowering Communities through Heritage and Handmade Traditions,” highlighting Negros Island’s cultural and culinary heritage.
Representing La Consolacion College Bacolod were:
Dr. Lilia A. Militar, BSHM Program Head; Ms. Florence Joy C. Soriano, BSTM Program Head; Chef John Paul Pascual, Technical Assistant; Ms. Eunice Acebuque; Ms. Joanne Sheina Ricablanca; Ms. Anne Heather Guerrero; Chef Ma. Rhodora Villaran; Ms. Christelle Sycayco; Ms. Jennalyn Niadas; and Ms. Precy I. Grecia.
Several LCC Bacolod faculty members also served in key leadership and organizing roles within COHREP. Dr. Anie O. Diaz, SHTM Faculty, is Treasurer of the COHREP Negros Island–Siquijor Chapter; Ms. Jonalyn C. Cuello, SHTM Faculty, serves as COHREP NISC Board of Director and member of the GMM Secretariat Committee; Ms. Mary Grace Porceso, SHTM Faculty, is a former COHREP Region 6 President and current member of the Board of Advisers; and Dr. Christian Angelo B. Ituriaga, SHTM Dean, serves as COHREP NISC Vice President and Chair of the GMM Technical Committee.
The event featured talks and panel discussions on heritage tourism, sustainable culinary practices, and the preservation of Negrense identity through education and community engagement.
