LCC Bacolod Students Shine in International Tourism Research Competition

La Consolacion College Bacolod proudly congratulates Joshua Gayares and Laurice Angelo, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management students, for their outstanding achievement in the Research Infographic Poster Presentation category at the Youth for Tourism and Hospitality International Conference (Y4THIC). Their poster, titled “Savoring Bacolod: Slow Food Movement Redefining Bacolod City’s Tourism Identity,” earned 1st Runner-up among entries from prestigious institutions.

The competition, organized by the University of the Philippines Asian Institute of Tourism Alumni, is a premier event that gathers young innovators and researchers in tourism and hospitality from across the country and abroad. Held at UP Diliman, the conference highlighted creative research and innovations aimed at advancing sustainable tourism and hospitality practices.

The research by Gayares and Angelo emphasizes Bacolod City’s tourism potential by integrating the Slow Food Movement, a global initiative that promotes local food traditions, sustainable practices, and community well-being. Their work reflects a fresh perspective on rebranding Bacolod City as a destination rooted in culture and sustainability.

Catungal, OSA, President of La Consolacion College Bacolod, expressed her heartfelt congratulations, “This remarkable achievement by Joshua and Laurice is a testament to the creativity and passion of our students.
