SAKON NAKHON, Thailand — Nov. 15, 2025 — Teaching interns from La Consolacion College Bacolod paid a courtesy visit Friday to Archbishop Anthony Weeradet Chaiseri, D.D., head of the Archdiocese of Thare–Nongseng and vice president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand.
The meeting, held at the Archbishop’s Office in Sakon Nakhon, was part of the students’ cultural and faith-oriented immersion under the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP). The interns were accompanied by Fr. Jeerasak Unla, Director of St. Joseph Nakae School, where the LCCB delegation is completing a three-month teaching internship.

According to Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of LCC Bacolod, Archbishop Chaiseri warmly welcomed the group and expressed gratitude for the partnership between LCCB and St. Joseph Nakae School.
“The bishop was happy about our presence, and the students were encouraged to share and teach not only knowledge but also Christian values,” Sr. Flolyn said. She added that the Archbishop appreciated how the collaboration brings the spirit of Catholic education into a setting where most students are Buddhists.
Sr. Flolyn also noted the significance of the experience for the interns. “Our students are happy to serve the diocese through the program. They will also learn from their experience, especially the beauty and rich, diverse culture of Thailand. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from the Thai curriculum and best practices,” she said.
The LCCB interns present during the visit were Loren G. Billiones, Ma. Christine V. Entapan, Blue Jace M. Gulmatico, Jade Martin R. Gustilo, Jonah P. Lumanog, Christine V. Maguad, Lory Gane S. Regala, Reenah Nicole B. Rivera, and Alycone Somet T. Tan. They were joined by Ms. Jean Erezo, Coordinator of the Teacher Education Program.
The courtesy meeting marked another highlight of the ongoing international internship, which aims to strengthen cultural understanding, Catholic identity, and professional formation among LCCB’s future educators.
