
Bacolod, January 13, 2025 – LCC Bacolod welcomed Sr. Eden L. Gicana, OSA, Superior General of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation, during a flag ceremony this morning.
The Canonical Visitation is a formal process where the Superior General visits schools to review the implementation of the congregation’s mission and values. It is a time to ensure that schools stay true to the goals of providing quality education and fostering strong Christian values.
During the ceremony, students waved blue flaglets and sang “Welcome to the Family,” led by RVE Chair Mr. Roland Gison. Ms. Maria Girlie Abad, Head of the Center for Spirituality and Mission, explained the role of the Superior General, emphasizing that the visit reaffirms the community’s commitment to faith and service. Later, President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, formally introduced Sr. Gicana.
Speaking to the audience, Sr. Gicana said,
“I am honored to be here today. This visit is a chance to reflect on our shared values and renew our commitment to educating young people with faith, responsibility, and service. I thank the students, teachers, and parents for their warm welcome.”
Sr. Gicana was joined by Sr. Janet Baraero, OSA, reinforcing the support of the congregation in nurturing a strong educational and spiritual environment.
The event highlighted the commitment of the Augustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation to guide students in becoming good and responsible Christians through quality education and moral values.
