On Saturday, September 13, 2025, in celebration of World First Aid Day, the Senior and Senior Plus Red Cross Youth Council of La Consolacion College Bacolod participated in a full-day Emergency First Aid and Basic Life Support (EFA/BLS) training.
The morning session was held at the Luisa Medel Little Theater, while the afternoon program took place at the Quadrangle, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Charles Joie Calasara, Mr. Bynner Gandola, Mr. Justine Sarinopia, and Mr. Rizaldy Alunan from the Red Cross Negros Occidental – Bacolod City Chapter. They shared essential knowledge on the principles, objectives, and practices in performing first aid and life-saving interventions.
During the morning program, participants were introduced to the basics of providing life support, including its process, criteria, and importance. A detailed lecture on the proper use of triangular bandages and square knots was also given.
In the afternoon, the training shifted to hands-on activities where volunteers practiced first aid applications such as bandaging, methods of carrying injured individuals, and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The activity equipped LCCB’s Red Cross Youth members with skills to respond to emergencies and reinforced their commitment to preparedness, compassion, and service.
