LCCian Presents Winning Artwork to President Marcos at CHED Summit

Manila, May 15, 2024 – Janine Ledesma, a Bachelor of Fine Arts student from the LCCB School of Architecture, Fine Arts & Interior Design, presented her award-winning artwork to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) National Higher Education Day Summit 2024 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

Ledesma was the 2nd Place Winner of the NHED On-the-Spot Painting Competition 2023. The event, held

as part of the celebration of the 4th National Higher Education Day and CHED’s 30th founding anniversary, highlighted the remarkable contributions of students to Philippine arts and education.

President Marcos Jr., the guest of honor and keynote speaker, addressed the summit during the afternoon event, “ULAT: The State of Philippine Higher Education”. CHED Chairman J. Prospero De Vera III delivered a comprehensive report on the state of higher education, marking one of the highlights of the event.

The summit, themed “Transformative and Resilient Philippine Higher Education,” brought together educators, students, and policymakers to discuss and celebrate advancements and challenges in the sector.
