MAED PE & Sports Students Hold Seminar on Innovation and Inclusion in Physical Education

The graduate students of Master of Arts in Education major in Physical Education and Sports at La Consolacion College Bacolod successfully held a seminar titled “Uniting Experts and Innovation: Empowering Physical Educators to Transform Learning and Inclusion” on June 21, 2025, at the Graduate School.

The event was organized under the course MAPE 201 Assessment and Exercise Counselling, and featured three plenary sessions focused on key topics relevant to contemporary PE practice.

Dr. Jyan Rome A. Bascar opened the discussions with his talk on “Enhancing Sports Coaching Through Biomechanics.” This was followed by Mr. Michael S. Lamis, MAEd, who addressed the topic “Implementing Adaptive Physical Education in Inclusive Classrooms.” The final session was led by Dr. Ma. Elena Y. Doruelo, who spoke on “Managing Professional Burnout: Coping Strategies for PE Teachers.”

In his closing remarks, Dr. Rodjhun B. Navarro, Program Head of the MAEd program, emphasized the importance of professional development and collaboration in the field:

“Physical educators play a vital role not only in promoting health but also in building inclusive and resilient communities. This seminar reflects our commitment to innovation, advocacy, and the continuous growth of our future PE leaders.”

The seminar was moderated by MAEd students with intermission performances and an active exchange of ideas during open forums. Dr. King Abram Cabauatan, the course professor, led the presentation of certificates and delivered the closing message.

The event demonstrated the graduate school’s dedication to developing educators who are equipped to lead, adapt, and inspire in the ever-evolving landscape of physical education.
