Marin Jan Infante of LCC Bacolod to Represent the Philippines in Asia-Pacific Interior Design Showcase

In a remarkable feat that underscores both personal creativity and national pride, Marin Jan Infante, a graduating student of La Consolacion College Bacolod’s Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program, will represent the Philippines at the Asia–Pacific Interior Student Project Display on June 7, 2025 at the Hanoi Museum, Vietnam. Her thesis will join an elite selection of student works from across the region, curated by premier design institutions including the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID), Asia-Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA), and allied groups from Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan.

Titled “Runway to Excellence: Integrating Experiential Theory into an Aviation School for Learning Optimization,” Marin’s project is an ambitious reimagining of how interior design can enhance immersive learning environments in aviation education. Merging David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory with symbolic and functional space-making, her design reflects a rare intersection of technical insight, human-centered design, and aesthetic clarity.

For LCC Bacolod, Marin’s inclusion in this prestigious international platform is a moment of pride and affirmation.

IDr. Rachel Jutare, Program Head of the BS Interior Design Program, shares:

“Marin’s work speaks of courage, clarity, and conviction. She dared to venture into a topic that is uncommon in the field—and made it her own. Her inclusion in this Asia–Pacific exhibit is a testament not only to her talent but also to the quality of interior design education we cultivate at LCC Bacolod.”

Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, College President, echoes the sentiment:

“We are overjoyed and grateful for Marin’s international recognition. Her work embodies the kind of excellence we hope every LCCian strives for—where faith, mission, and passion meet global relevance. Marin is proof that creativity nurtured with integrity can reach far and wide.”

As her design joins a multicultural celebration of student ingenuity, Marin Jan Infante carries with her not only her personal dream but the creative spirit of the Filipino designer—bold, grounded, and ready to engage with the world.
