New President Sets Expectations and Builds Relationships in Inaugural Meeting with Administrators

La Consolacion College Bacolod convened a crucial session under the leadership of Sister Flolyn Catungal, OSA, the newly appointed President, aimed at fostering unity and outlining priorities for the upcoming academic year. The meeting provided administrators with a platform to express their expectations and address critical areas for improvement, spanning educational facilities, campus environment, staffing needs, and stakeholder engagement, notably with parents.

Kicking off the session, Sister Flolyn underscored the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in advancing the college’s mission. “Together, we will innovate and uphold our commitments to excellence and service,” she affirmed, setting a proactive tone for collective action.

Administrators introduced themselves and shared something they were thankful for. Sister Flolyn expressed gratitude and offered affirmations, stating, “You are our greatest talents; there will be no mission without the people.” She urged everyone to pursue higher goals and assured them of God’s support for LCC Bacolod.

Acknowledging the support for ASOLC leadership, Sister Flolyn recognized each person’s unique contributions. She emphasized the importance of trust from both the school and community, encouraging everyone to thrive. As a gesture, she distributed affirmations by James Van Praagh to inspire positivity and motivation among the attendees.

Administrators seized the opportunity to articulate their aspirations for LCC Bacolod. Discussions emphasized the pressing need to enhance educational facilities and overall campus infrastructure to better

support effective teaching and learning. Proposals ranged from upgrading libraries, classrooms, providing campus rest and recreation features, renovating lobbies, to aligning with modern educational standards.

Critical staffing emerged as another focal point, with administrators advocating for additional personnel to meet growing administrative and academic demands. Key requests included roles like a Records Custodian to streamline documentation processes and enhance operational efficiency, as well as additional student assistants in key student support services.

Stakeholder engagement, particularly with parents, was highlighted as crucial for fostering a supportive community. Transparent communication and collaborative decision-making were emphasized as vital for shaping a positive educational experience for all students.

In her closing remarks, Sister Flolyn reaffirmed her dedication to addressing these priorities collaboratively. “Our focus will be on enhancing our educational environment and meeting the needs of all stakeholders,” she affirmed.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to advancing educational excellence and strengthening community ties, marking a promising start to the college’s future endeavors.
