BANGKOK, Thailand — As part of its thrust toward internationalization and academic excellence, the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM) of La Consolacion College Bacolod visited Bangkok University on May 16, 2025, during an educational tour in Thailand’s vibrant capital.
The LCCB delegation was warmly welcomed by Dr. Panadda Unyapho, Director of the International Affairs Office. The visit featured insightful lectures by Assistant Professor Sippanan Nuanla-ong, Ph.D., who presented current research on sustainable tourism and development, and Mr. Thawit Somrak, who shared Bangkok University’s strategies on the internationalization of hospitality management programs.

The benchmarking activity sought to explore how Bangkok University delivers hands-on training, industry immersion, and career readiness for students—key elements that the SHTM hopes to integrate more deeply into its own programs.
“This exposure to global best practices is invaluable as we continue to enhance the learning experience of our students,” said Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, President of La Consolacion College Bacolod. “Our mission is to provide an education that not only meets local needs but also prepares our graduates to thrive in a global environment. Collaborations like this affirm that goal.”
The visit marked an important step in SHTM’s ongoing curriculum development and its pursuit of stronger academic and industry linkages abroad. By learning from Bangkok University’s successful model, LCC Bacolod strengthens its commitment to developing competent, compassionate, and globally competitive tourism and hospitality professionals.
