BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES – A beloved landmark at La Consolacion College Bacolod has been restored. The iconic statue of the Our Lady of Consolation, located at the corner of Galo and Gatuslao streets, received a meticulous makeover by the school’s Painting Legion Club.
The student artists, under the mentorship of Buglas Carreon, meticulously repainted the statue on May 7-8, 2024. The original sculpture is the work of renowned Negrense artist Felix V. Garzon.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Painting Legion Club for their hard work and talent,” Sister Infante said. “The restored statue is a beautiful testament to their skills and their devotion to our patron.”
The student artists who participated in the project are Jester Anierdes, Andrew Noel Tomaro, Khyt Dohinog, JM Ginete, Disney Agsam, Shan Paul Evangelista, and Patti Valencia. Their meticulous work has ensured that the statue will continue to be a source of inspiration and comfort for the LCCB community for years to come.
