PRC finds LCC Bacolod fully compliant with Interior Design standards

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has declared La Consolacion College Bacolod fully compliant with legal and regulatory requirements for its Interior Design program following an inspection and monitoring visit conducted on Jan. 28, 2026.

The inspection was carried out by the Professional Regulatory Board of Interior Design to assess the college’s compliance with national standards governing curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, library resources, and overall program administration. The evaluation forms part of the PRC’s mandate under Republic Act No. 8981, or the PRC Modernization Act of 2000, and Republic Act No. 10350, the Philippine Interior Design Act of 2012.

According to the official report, the inspection team found no deficiencies, non-compliances, or violations, concluding that LCC Bacolod meets all professional, ethical, and technical standards required for the practice and instruction of interior design.

The PRC also commended the college for its strong performance in the most recent Interior Design Licensure Examination in July 2025, citing LCC Bacolod as a top-performing school during the assessment.

While affirming full compliance, the Board offered recommendations aimed at further strengthening the program, including increasing the number of permanent faculty members with master’s degrees, expanding continuing professional development offerings, updating library resources, and enhancing student exposure through collaborations and regional educational visits.

The inspection team was led by Hon. Maria Carlota D. Hilvano, member of the PRC Board of Interior Design, with Salome Preciosa G. Daymoto serving as PRC representative. The report was formally confirmed by Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, school president, and Dr. Vincent Raymund Y. Alovera, dean of the School of Architecture, Fine Arts, and Interior Design.

The PRC recommended the issuance of a Certificate of Compliance for LCC Bacolod and indicated that the program remains subject to routine monitoring and reinspection as part of the Commission’s quality assurance framework
