Senior High School students set for intercultural immersion in Malaysia as LCC Bacolod signs MOA

Senior High School students of La Consolacion College Bacolod are set to gain international exposure following the signing of a memorandum of agreement with SMS Phoenix Global Sdn. Bhd., a Malaysia-based company, for the implementation of an International Work Immersion Program.

The agreement was signed on Dec. 18, marking a new partnership that will allow LCCB Senior High School learners to participate in academic, cultural and work immersion activities in Malaysia starting February 2026.

Under the agreement, SMS Phoenix Global Sdn. Bhd. will serve as LCCB’s partner in facilitating student advisory services, coordination with host institutions, and program implementation for the international immersion. The collaboration aims to enhance students’ global competence, cultural awareness and readiness for real-world professional environments.

LCCB President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, said the partnership aligns with the school’s commitment to internationalization and holistic education.

“This partnership opens opportunities for our Senior High School students to experience learning beyond borders, helping them develop cultural sensitivity, independence and skills that prepare them for a globalized workplace,” Catungal said.

The agreement also outlines broader areas of cooperation between the two institutions, including academic and cultural immersion programs, educational tours, industrial visits, faculty and student benchmarking, and other joint academic initiatives.

The International Work Immersion Program is expected to provide participating students with structured exposure to international work environments while ensuring their safety, academic alignment and cultural orientation, as stipulated in the agreement.

LCC Bacolod officials said further details on student selection, program requirements and orientation activities will be released ahead of the February 2026 implementation.
