Senior High students undergo international immersion in Malaysia, Singapore

Students of La Consolacion College Bacolod are currently in Malaysia and Singapore for a weeklong international immersion program aimed at strengthening global exposure, cultural understanding and industry-based learning.

The International Immersion Program-Study Tour, organized in partnership with SMS Phoenix Global, runs from Feb. 10 to 18, 2026. The itinerary combines academic engagement, industry visits and cultural tours in Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Malacca and Singapore.

The delegation began the program in Kuala Lumpur with structured academic sessions and an industry visit designed to provide students with in-depth understanding of selected topics relevant to their fields. The experience integrates classroom-based learning with real-world exposure in an international setting.

Cultural immersion activities form a central part of the program, allowing students to experience Malaysia’s multicultural heritage. In Ipoh, participants explored historical and architectural landmarks, while the Malacca leg highlights the city’s rich colonial past and living traditions. The final stop in Singapore includes exchange activities and guided visits to key educational and cultural sites.

School President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, said the immersion reflects the college’s continuing push toward meaningful internationalization.

“This international immersion is not simply a travel experience. It is a formation journey,” Catungal said. “We want our students to encounter other cultures, engage with global industries and return home with broader perspectives, deeper cultural sensitivity and a stronger sense of purpose as LCCians.”

The program forms part of LCC Bacolod’s broader international mobility initiatives, designed to prepare students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and competitive global environment.
