Sept. 24, 2025 — Music and youthful creativity filled the Covered Quadrangle of La Consolacion College Bacolod Integrated School on Wednesday as students competed in the annual Musical Contest, showcasing their talent in vocal solo, vocal duet and lacoustica categories.
The day’s program opened with an invocation led by Mary Claire Chiong, followed by the national anthem led by Yshandra Gonzales. Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Anthony G. Deocades, officer-in-charge of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, who encouraged participants to perform with confidence and celebrate the gift of music.

Mrs. Minette P. Gela, Chair of the Filipino Area intyroduced the judges, while Mr. Jomil Villanueva, LPT, Chair of the Science Area, Mr. Ernie P. Mallorca, LPT, Chair of the TLE/Computer Area; and Mrs. Cresilda M. Amerila, the Coordinator for Student Formation and Activities read the mechanics of the contests and the criteria for judging.
In the Vocal Solo contest, champions included representatives from Grade 3 (Category A), Grade 5 (Category B), and Grade 7 (Category C). First runner-up honors went to Grade 2, Grade 6, and Grade 9, while Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 10 secured second runner-up spots. Grade 8 took the third runner-up place in Category C.
The Vocal Duet contest crowned Grade 3, Grade 5, and Grade 7 as champions in Categories A, B, and C respectively. Grade 2, Grade 6, and Grade 10 earned first runner-up honors, while Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 8 took second runner-up placements. Grade 9 took the third runner-up place in Category C.
Meanwhile, in Lacoustica (Category C), Grade 10 emerged as champion with an impressive performance. Grade 9 earned first runner-up, Grade 7 took second runner-up, and Grade 8 finished as third runner-up.
An intermission number by the academic administrators entertained the audience, adding a festive note between the competitions.
The program closed with a prayer led by Robe James Vallao, as students, teachers, and parents applauded the winners and celebrated the values of discipline, teamwork, and artistry gained through the competition.
