GRADUATE SCHOOL HOLDS 5TH NATIONAL SEMINAR-WORKSHOP ON INNOVATION EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

The Graduate School Master of Arts in Education major in Filipino program of La Consolacion College Bacolod successfully concluded its 5th National Seminar-Workshop, a three-day hybrid academic gathering held April 15–17, 2026, aimed at strengthening educators’ competencies in innovative teaching and research.

Carrying the theme “Pro-Ambition 1: Programa sa Pagsusulong ng Propesyonal na Kakayahan: Makabagong Edukasyon at Pananaliksik para sa Pambansang Pag-unlad,” the seminar-workshop brought together 121 educators and researchers from across the country. Of the total participants, 69 attended in person at the LCCB Auditorium, while 52 joined through online platforms.

The activity, which carried eight Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit units (Accreditation No. PTR-2023-447-11940), was organized under the leadership of Graduate School Dean Dr. Baniline Jone A. Portal.

The seminar aimed to enhance participants’ use of innovative pedagogy and educational technologies, develop 21st-century skills and reflective practice, and strengthen research competencies aligned with Level 6 of the Philippine Qualifications Framework. It also focused on deepening cultural competence, understanding national education policies, and contextualizing values education for Generation Z learners.

As part of the Graduate School’s outreach program, the initiative reaffirmed LCCB’s commitment to advancing the quality of education and research in the Philippines by supporting the professional growth of teachers, particularly in the fields of Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, and academic research.

Resource speakers included Dr. Roberto Ampil of the University of Santo Tomas, Dr. David San Juan of De La Salle University, Prof. Rolando Gizon of LCCB, and Dr. Pinky Guanzon of the Department of Education–Bacolod.

The success of the event was also attributed to the collaboration of partner institutions, including the Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Bukidnon State University, and the Kapisanan ng mga Manunudlo sa Filipino ng Negros (KAMFIL-NEG).

Organizers said the seminar highlighted the critical role of education and research in national development, emphasizing that “education is the foundation of the nation, and research is the light of transformation.”

The Graduate School expressed gratitude to all participants and partners, noting that the seminar served as a platform for knowledge exchange and inspiration as educators continue to respond to the demands of modern education.
