TAIPEI, Taiwan — A delegation from La Consolacion College Bacolod visited Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU) on April 21, 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening international academic collaboration between the Philippines and Taiwan.
The 20-member delegation, led by LCCB President Sr. Flolyn S. Catungal, OSA, was welcomed by FJCU President Prof. Francis Yi-Chen Lan and university officials at the institution’s campus in New Taipei City.
The visit began with a campus tour, followed by formal welcome remarks and an institutional dialogue focusing on academic exchange, research collaboration and global partnerships.

In her message, Catungal expressed gratitude for the warm reception and emphasized the importance of international engagement in higher education.
“This visit reflects our commitment to learning from global best practices and building meaningful partnerships that will benefit our students, faculty and community,” she said. “We are grateful to Fu Jen Catholic University for opening opportunities for collaboration rooted in our shared mission of Catholic education.”
Lan welcomed the LCCB delegation and underscored the value of academic cooperation across borders.
“We are pleased to receive our colleagues from La Consolacion College Bacolod,” he said. “Through dialogue and collaboration, we can create opportunities that enhance academic excellence and foster mutual understanding among our institutions.”
Prof. Wei-Min Liu, dean of the Office of International Education, highlighted the role of internationalization in advancing institutional growth.
“Partnerships such as this allow us to exchange knowledge, promote mobility and strengthen the global perspectives of our students and faculty,” Liu said. “We look forward to exploring concrete areas of collaboration with LCC Bacolod.”
LCCB and FJCU are currently in the exploratory stage of partnership discussions, with both institutions expressing strong interest in initiating future collaboration in areas such as student and faculty exchange, joint research and academic development.
The benchmarking visit forms part of LCCB’s broader initiative to expand its international linkages and enhance the quality of its academic programs through global partnerships.
